Master
carpenter Henry Ziemann founded Empire Level in 1919. The
company became an innovator in the building trades just
three years later with its invention of the first adjustable
level with interchangeable and replaceable vials. It is
that kind of constant innovation that has led Empire to
dominate the professional marketplace in North America.
In
one of our four plants near Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in the
Great Lakes area of the United States, Empire produces spirit
levels made with mahogany, aluminum or specially engineered
polymers; which material is best depends on the application.
We
manufacture combination, rafter and framing squares for
the carpenter, and laser levels for plumbers, electricians
and the rest of the building trades.
We
also make T-squares, straight edges, plumb bobs and cutting
guides as well as great layout tools for both the professional
and the do-it-yourselfer.
